Frozen River Film Festival presents the festival each winter and offers year-round opportunities for people to connect with and through films.


Great River Shakespeare Festival

Great River Shakespeare Festival (GRSF) is a nonprofit, professional theater company in Winona, Minnesota. Its mission is to enrich people’s lives by creating dynamic, clearly understood productions of Shakespeare and other playwrights who celebrate the spoken word.


River City Dancers

The River City Dancers is open to couples and singles from all walks of life and backgrounds that are interested in learning how to ballroom dance. Each dance event provides an open and comfortable space for individuals to not just learn dance fundamentals and technique but enjoy themselves while doing so. Indoor dance events are held one Saturday each month (October-April) at The ARC, and outdoor events take place in downtown Winona (June-September). Each event features a dance lesson taught by Stan and Molly Breitlow of Breitlow Ballroom. All dance events incorporate high-energy Modern Hits and Classic Standards including Foxtrot, Waltz, Single/Triple Swing, Cha-Cha, West Coast, Tango, Rumba, Samba, Merengue, Hustle, and Salsa music selections. Many travel from Rochester, Eau Claire, Madison, and La Crosse in order to enjoy a River City dance. All are welcome and no prior dance experience is required to attend!

Sandbar Storytelling Festival

Sandbar Storytelling Festival provides exciting performances and compelling chronicles amidst the breathtaking beauty of Winona, MN. Come celebrate and preserve the power and pleasure of our varied cultural traditions and human experiences. Help us promote the art of storytelling for all ages. The public festival includes food, workshops, concerts, and — of course — storytelling at Saint Mary’s University. Multiple other events are also planned for Winona schools, universities, and other venues throughout Winona.


Theatre du Mississippi

Founded in 1997 and incorporated in 1998, Theatre du Mississippi (TdM) is committed to the development and production of high-quality programs in the performing arts, particularly shows that address simultaneously entertain and enlighten our audiences. TdM aims to integrate artistic excellence and originality with a sense of community in the Winona area and beyond. TdM’s mission is to present performances that have a connection to the community, embracing original works that tell stories from the area’s rich history, as well as bringing outside stories that have meaning to the members of the community.
